Bruno Mars and Train to headline 2011 InfieldFEST at Preakness

Bohs and O’s real-time reaction: Yawn… We’re still holding out and, as we’ve done the previous two years, will be throwing our own party that day to celebrate a great day in local sports and entertainment, but not contributing money to the assholes that ruined our once great event.

Blast Maintain First Place

Last night a few members of the Bohs and O’s editorial staff took in our first Baltimore Blast game of the season.  Coming into the game the Blast held a slim 0.5 game lead over the Milwaukee Wave and were looking to extend it with a home victory against the Omaha Vipers. It was a [...]

Finally…Today is the day.

No, not Valentines day, although there’s a different type of love involved.  Not between a man and a woman, but rather between a city and baseball team.  Today, ladies and gents, was the first official workout for the Orioles in Sarasota, meaning that the 2011 baseball season is officially under way. Pitchers and catchers worked [...]

Cot of the Week: Baltimore bars not ordering Natty Boh on tap

Natty Boh returning to draft form around Baltimore is a fantastic piece of news for us to start this new year with; bars all over the city have hopefully been placing order for kegs of our favorite beer.  There will be some bars, however, that won’t be buying Natty Boh to offer it on tap. [...]

“Second City Does Baltimore”…and does a damn good job

Last night three quarters of the Bohs and O’s editorial staff took in the “Second City Does Baltimore” show at Centerstage and we couldn’t stop laughing at their portrayal of our fine city.  Several months ago the cast of the Second City comedy troupe came to Baltimore and spent a week walking all over the [...]

Baltimore County to increase speed cameras, City should do the same

Last night the Baltimore County Council voted to cancel a previously held limit of 15 speed cameras that could be actively used in the County.  This move will facilitate the addition of more speed cameras in school and work zones throughout the county and I can only hope that Baltimore City will follow this lead [...]

A call to Baltimore radio stations: Please press the stop button on “Black and Yellow”!

I was driving home from dinner at Cafe Zen (string bean roll is still one of my favorite dishes around) on Sunday night, doing everything I could to not think about the AFC Championship game that was taking place at the time between the Jets and Steelers, so I thought I’d turn on the radio [...]

A Jacket Or Not?

This past weekend Baltimoreans were treated to some of the first truly cold weather of the season.  With the temperature taking a dive at night, those frequenting bars throughout the city were presented with the annual conundrum: to bring a jacket or not? This is something everyone struggles with each winter and deals with in [...]

Cot of the Week: Ron Fritz

Ron is really making a push for the coveted Cot of the Year award with the article he wrote for The Sun yesterday, “Orioles Need To Sign Derek Jeter.”  Is he serious?  He couldn’t possibly have written a legitimate piece calling for the Orioles to sign the face of the New York Yankees, our biggest [...]
