The Jay-Unit Is Back

Last night I was at Alonso’s in Roland Park enjoying a smokehouse burger (delicious) when I glanced up at one of the TV’s and couldn’t believe what I saw.  The Nationals game against the Dodgers was on and there was a left handed batter up who looked oddly familiar.  With a somewhat rigid stance he [...]

Bohero: BUCK-ing the Trend

It is probably not even necessary that I write this post.  Everybody must have known that Buck would be receiving the award after the events that transpired over the past week.  In a matter of days he has already bucked the trend of losing that has hung over the O’s for the past 13 years.  [...]

Cot of the Week: Rick Dempsey

It doesn’t get much better than this in Birdland.  The O’s are 3-0 under Buck Showalter and are flying high after a sweep of the Angels.  With solid pitching efforts and timely hitting it’s impossible not to be enthused by the recent play of our birds… …unless you’re Rick Dempsey.  Rick still hasn’t gotten over [...]

Hershey Park

Last Sunday we visited “The Sweetest Place on Earth” Hershey, PA for a day of fun at Hersheypark.  Only a 90 minute drive up 83, Hershey Park is vastly superior to Six Flags America, the other closest Amusement Park to Baltimore and the only other that makes sense for a one-day trip.  Six Flags has [...]

Buck Naked!

Two nights ago the Orioles went Buck Wild and last night they got Buck Naked!  Thanks to an early offensive onsalught the O’s managed to keep Buck’s record unblemished.  Pie came through with 3 RBIs and Luuuuuuke homered for the third straight game.  He has now hit 8 since the All-Star Break. Brian Matusz pitched [...]

Sonic coming to Baltimore

Next week, Baltimore will finally be getting a Sonic restaurant. Aside from their famous frozen drinks, this is especially great news because Sonic happens to have the best breakfast item of any fast food restaurant: the Supersonic Breakfast Burrito (pictured below), which is “a medley of Savory Sausage, Scrambled Egg, Melty Cheese, Tater Tots, Diced [...]

Ban on European Soccer Jerseys Issued

Fans of European soccer I am not pleased with your performance this past weekend for two reasons.  First, you failed to sell out the game at M&T Bank Stadium.  This significantly hurts Baltimore’s chances of hosting a World Cup game in 2018 or 2022.  There are still a few of us out there who love [...]

Buck Wild!

Last night the Bohs and O’s crew journeyed to the Yard to welcome our beloved birds home from a 7 game road trip and get our first chance to see Buck Showalter take the reigns as manager.  It was a beautiful night for baseball and those of us in attendance we treated to a great [...]
